Since Fred mentioned that Smarties aren't the same candy in every country, I thought I'd compile this information here. If you know of any other candies, please add them with a picture.

UPDATE: I'm pretty sure all sweettarts are officially on the unsafe list. Sorry folks. There are a few different kinds of sweettarts. I don't know too many HFIers that like the blue, red, green, and purple ones, but you might. The giant sweettarts are a little iffy. I still like them, but I'm not 100% sure that they're safe. Officially not HFI safe. Do not eat Giant Chewy Sweettarts.

Amazingly, Wonka hasn't changed the flavors of the red, orange, and purple ones yet. Blue is not safe (as far as I can tell).

Everybody loves banana. I don't quite understand why we like banana flavors, but not bananas. I'm not fond of apple or blue. They used to have yummy lime and orange flavors. Last time I ate them, the lime flavor was missing.

UPDATE! I just bought a new box and they changed the ingredients. I only tried grape, but it's definitely NOT SAFE. I couldn't bring myself to try any of the other flavors. No hate here. All of them are yum-yum-yummy. Wait a second. I don't recognize those pink and blue colors. This might not be the right picture. There's definitely purple, red, yellow, orange, green, and the candy looks a lot like this picture.

Shockers: I used to eat these, but I stopped after I got my DX. The label is iffy, but Fred says they didn't give him a reaction. ------- Smarties: These are the best. The image here is for the giant-sized ones. There is also a small size, but they look nearly identical, so I didn't upload a picture. -------- Fun Dip: The sticks are the best. Again with the blue color (which turns green). I haven't had these in a while. They might have changed the flavors on me. All the powders are NOT HFI safe. You can only have the sticks (as far as I can tell). --------- Laffy Taffy Grape: This used to be Tangy Taffy and red/cherry was my favorite. But then they merged the Laffy Taffy & Tangy Taffy lines. Now cherry has sparkles in it, which are straight-up sugar. Don't eat cherry. Grape doesn't have the sparkles. I had grape last summer and didn't have any reaction. I'm pretty sure it's safe, but really bad on your teeth. Super bummer, they just changed the flavors this summer. I think they added natural fruit flavors to the taffy. It is no longer HFI safe.

Wow, great thread Laura. I so miss the red Tangy Taffy. I don't care for the Laffy Taffy at all. Runts now have new Pineapple and Mango flavors which are AWFUL. I'm getting really limited on the Runts that I do like. The only candy I would add are the Chewy Runts and Bottle Caps. Love them! But again, they keep adding yucky Runts flavors, and I'm not 100% sure they're safe (like the shockers). But Bottlecaps...I'll eat those any day.

They have this huge bag of runts at Sam's Club. I really wanted it until I looked inside the bag and saw a lack of green runts. That was sad.
This is my favorite thread. I think I just like looking at the pictures.

I was so excited to see all the candy pictures! I couldn't believe Grape Laffy Taffy was on the list. I used to eat these when I was little. I looked them up today and the first ingredient is corn syrup- does that mean it is just glucose and doesn't have fructose? If the corn syrup is safe, I have to go searching for these. What kind of stores carry them? Our grocery stores don't have them- I live in a pretty small town. This will be a good switch from Smarties and Pixie Stix Thanks for the pictures!!!

I think the corn syrup is just the thickening variety and not the sweet variety. I would have had a much worse reaction if it was HFCS. As to where to find them, your guess is as good as mine. I happened to stumble upon them at a small souvenir shop in Northern Ohio. I haven't ran across them since. Just check all the gas stations and convenience stores you run across.

I called Wonka before I thought to check back here for an answer. You are so fast Colormist- Thank you.
I talked to Wonka/Nestle, and the corn syrup is derived from corn starch and contains no fructose. If their product has high fructose corn syrup, they will label it as such, otherwise the corn syrup is a completely different product.
I am so excited. I hope they taste the same as they did decades ago. This is the best thread.

I don't know if it'll taste the same. Grape Laffy Taffy from the 80s-90s taste different than Grape Tangy Taffy. Since they merged the two names. If you ate the Tangy Taffy from the 80's that was in this candy bar shape, then it still tastes the same today.
I never liked the Laffy Taffy from the 80's (except banana).

Found a big box of Laffy Taffy at Sam's Club. I kept the grape ones, gave my husband the watermelon ones, and donated the cherry ones to the workplace (they disappeared quite quickly).

Someone at work had a small grape Laffy Taffy in their desk, but it had sugar in the ingredients list. BUMMER!
Also, the ingredients on the web for Spree candies says sugar, but I've gotten them here in So. Cal and there is no sugar in the ingredients list. Go figure!

You are so lucky to find the laffy taffy. I have been everywhere in my town, and can't find the big grape ones. I also found the little ones had sugar. Do the big watermelon ones have sugar too? I'm still going to be on the lookout.

The big watermelon ones have sugar, too. I don't think it's in the taffy so much as in the sprinkles/seed-things on the taffy.

Thanks for the links. I have been looking everywhere for grape laffy taffy, and only find the tiny ones with sugar. I feel like a little kid on a quest. I hope to find a single one soon to try it first and see if I like it. I have a brother that just moved to Michigan, I'll have to see if he has this store in Holland.

Laura,
Does the grape Laffy Taffy taste like the old grape Tangy Taffy?? I think I've only tried the ones with sugar in it, and I didn't like them at all. But I used to love Tangy Taffy.

Yup, Grape Laffy Taffy IS old Grape Tangy Taffy. They only changed the name, not the wrapper or shape. However, the grape Laffy Taffy in the rope and bite-size shapes is not the same flavor.
I wish Wonka didn't make their candy so complicated. I would start a petition, but I think we'd only have HFI people sign it.
