I guess I'm lucky. I'm OK with dairy products, and sometimes that's all I live on. Yogurt doesn't seem to help my hypoglycemic symptoms as much as milk, and I recently noticed that the yogurt I was buying was labeled as lactose-free, so I guess the fermentation that turns it into yogurt converts the lactose to something else.

my lactose test came back negative but i am having symptoms directly related to eating lactose. so i know i am lactose intolerant but my test was negative. i guess i will stick to the lactose free cheeses and yogurt.

I am not lactose intolerant but recently I get itchy when i drink milk so i don't know if i'm developing a dairy allergy or what. That would really be a problem because I LOVE milk. I am feeling very sad about it but I guess I can live on rice and meat???

We used to sell goats milk to the parents of Children with Eczema. So long as the parents kept the children on a TOTALLY cow free diet (that's no milk, animal fats in case some is from beef, no meat products that contained beef or could possibly contain beef not even milk protein) then after about 3 months they could slowly reintroduce dairy and beef meat products without re-igniting the eczema. We had countless phone calls usually the following morning, thanking us as it was the first nights sleep some parents had since the birth of their baby. in several cases the babies were born covered in eczema as a result of sensitisation in the womb. If the cow / beef free diet was not rigidly stuck to then when dairy / beef was reintroduced the eczema generally returned. When this happened parents had missed something (usually chocolate!) Although we were happy to sell the milk to the parents we were far happier to get a "cure" for the children. The effect on adults was less successful but then adults cheat a lot more than babies We could always sell as much as we could produce thanks to the recommendations of local Doctors. These days Goats Milk is main stream in the UK with every large Supermarket selling it.
