I don't know what the hell I was thinking, but I made Asparagus soup last night for dinner. I was all excited about having something new on the table that my husband and I could both enjoy. We both had a bowl, it was yummy. I was happy because I was eating a new veggie.
15 minutes later I felt off. 15 minutes after that I declared that I should not have ate that and did not know what the hell I was thinking.
I'm drinking lots of water today and yesterday. Definitely having problems concentrating, typing, moving. I was feeling a little better (after eating a few rolls of smarties) and went for a 6-block walk to buy stamps. Now I'm feeling worse again.
1/2 lb of asparagus in soup form = Not safe

Yep done that got the tea shirt!
Tiny amounts are tolerable but then even if we are not ill as a result of the amount we eat the breakdown products will knock us back for a few days.
Watch out for those Smarties! If they are made from "Confectionery Glucose" they will contain up to 40% other sugars while stating they are 100% Glucose!

I don't eat as much candy as I used to as it doesn't particularly taste good to me. Wonka's doing a great job at making all my old favorites completely fructose-loaded. Most of my candies say dextrose on them--which seems to be safe (as far as I can tell anyway). It's when it says "natural flavors" or "artificial flavors" that I have to be careful.
Speaking of sugar contamination, I've been having an awesome issue with my cereal manufacturers doing this. They don't clean the machines and just roll off the unsweetened variety. It's not until I open the box and see the white powder that I realize how misleading the packaging is.

Contamination is problem for sure. So if they don't clean the equipment between batches (and they don't ) you can understand why I'm saying watch out with the Glucose particularly the candies and sweets. The main point is you can get a high Fructose dose without noticing it with candy and the like because the fructose is masked by the massive influx of Glucose in to the blood stream. I know a bit about Food labelling and what I know fills me with worry. The UK is going slowly like the USA everything is getting sweeter and things that have no reason to have added sugar are getting it put in as a filler or just to cheapen the cost of ingredients sometimes. Keep smiling

The whole move towards everything being sweeter in the US (and now migrating to the UK) is part of the reason why I was so happy about the recent study about the prevalence of DFI in children (I think it was 40-60% of children that had complained about stomach issues actually had DFI). If the trend towards fructose intolerance continues, then we might get some food manufacturers to take their fructose contamination seriously (like they do with wheat, soy, nuts and dairy)

Some of the problem with sugar overload is that it is used to mask the salt and chemical overload in the ongoing search to increase the shelf life of food and cheaper costs for the customer. I think I posted once before that frozen pizza was found to have 8 teaspoon of salt in it masked by about a pound of sugar........
That is a worrying statistic about children but looking at what they eat........ One of our top chefs Jamie Oliver was campaining somewhere in America, can't remember where and upsetting alot of people about what the children were eating in school, he was horrified how many had things like pizza for breakfast.....

The US Smarties, which are made in Canada by Ce De Candy. www.smarties.com/I've been having a subtle reaction with the more recent candies, so consume with caution.

Be careful with smarties. In Britain they are colour sugar coated chocolate. I see you are from denmark so may be the same as us
