that sounds amazing!! if i'm reading it correctly they think they've developed a pill which if taken with a meal will allow us to absorb the fructose and therefore eat whatever we want....

mm its a no go I'm afraid at least in the way they are trying to do it. The Enzyme is broken down in our digestion system before it can be adsorbed. This is a natural defence. Imagine if we ate say liver from a cow and the enzymes got through.. our bodies would be flooded with enzymes which would allow us to digest cellulose and grass, and make milk out of it! Joking aside there is a way it can be done but it is only licensed for animals at the moment. I'm trying to get a professor of animal nutrition interested in our cause.. I'll let you know if he responds to my request for advice / help. I have now read the patent application more thoroughly. What they are proposing is a chemical that you have to take every time you eat anything that contains Fructose or put it in your cooking. What the chemical is designed to do is convert all Fructose into a chemical that the body cannot adsorb so it will pass straight through the intestine without being digested! I would imagine it having at the very least a massive laxative effect (Like a changed form of Lactose used as a laxative in babies) Christmas Cake anybody? It would not get my wallet open to try it that's for sure!
