Can you guys actually eat dextrose first thing in the morning? I am terrified to try this. I need a sure diagnoses before I would think about doing anything like this.
I am just curious, I imagine you wouldn't want to and really I wouldn't either but, is this possible without any reaction of hypoglycemia or sick feeling, headache?
Has anybody done this? What happened?

Dextrose (glucose) is in a LOT of foods, so it shouldn't hurt you. Your body converts your food stuff into glucose anyway (brain food) so I can't even imagine anyone having a bad reaction to it--of course, I wouldn't be surprised if it existed. I have been known to put dextrose in my tea in the morning, or in my water when I'm exercising to help with my sugar levels. It will make your sugar levels SPIKE (and then crash shortly there after), so be sure to eat something with protein with it to prevent the crash. The only thing that's happened to me is that it made me really hyper. People tend to take glucose tablets to help regulate their blood sugar levels (to prevent hypoglycemia). health.google.com/health/ref/Hypoglycemia

For me this is one of the joys of HFI. I can have a treat in the morning now as long as it is made with dextrose! No more of the misery of hypoglycemia from sucrose. I still have protein with my treat for good measure.
