Yes very useful, well found Sarosh.
I think Dr Mercola has answered or possibly answered one question that has been bothering me for ages..
Why after a bad reaction am I ultra sensitive to anything tasting sweet, for several days afterwards..(6 month+ after challenge test!)
I wonder and suspect that its a result of our Uric acid level in the blood is too high??
This could lead to very interesting possibilities.
It would also explain why occasionally I can go "sensitive or even Hyper-sensative" without having had a reaction to Fructose.
It might also explain to a degree why some people only react days after eating Fructose. Yet seem to be in all other ways HFI.
I think I have worked out that so long as we are getting enough Starch we can apparently "handle" quite high loads of Fructose and not get a reaction..
For example I used to eat some quite bad HFI wise meals by "buffering" myself with enough White rice.
Also sometimes I can eat a meal but not feel the "benefit" so to speak.. I just don't feel the lovely warm glow I get from a good meal if it is really very low in Fructose. This usually indicates to me that I have had quite a dose of Fructose in the meal usually from baked potatoes!
This is one reason why I think the "tolerated" foods list needs an urgent update..
There should be two lists.
1/. HFI safe foods, (meat, fish, cheese, starches etc..)
2/. An a "Tolerated in varying amounts" foods list, with suitable warnings not to eat too much from this list in any week or month.
I know some people are not able to "handle" things like gluten or Lactose (milk sugar) but that is a different problem not an HFI one. (unless its as a result of liver damage.
)
To develop this further as a theory we need blood uric acid levels from confirmed HFI people while feeling "Normal" and when "sensitive or Hyper sensitive" to see if the Uric acid level is higher while we are not feeling good.
I have just had my blood Uric acid level checked so I will have a base line figure for me anyway..
Tomorrow I see my Doctor to get the results, so will ask her if we can do another test a day or so after I have deliberately had a largish dose of Fructose followed by a third test say a week later or when I feel better again.
Anyone else feel like making them selves ill for a week or so in the interest of science??
Seriously no don't do it until we at least get the results form my own experiment.. assuming the Dr will play ball
IF this works then I will be a very good way to detect hidden Fructose say in a tub of Dextrose.
Test before eating any Dextrose for a few weeks then test again the day after having a good slug of the stuff.
I bet the Uric acid level will be higher
Only please don't expect me to do it there are some thing's even I will not do!
Food (HFI safe variety) for thought anyway.
Keep looking folks as the saying used to go "The truth is out there"
Sorry references to old TV series my son used to religiously watch. called the "X Files"
