I thought it might be helpful to start a list of "hidden sources" that were most troublesome or difficult for us to identify as a source of fructose exposure/poisoning and, if applicable, include a safe alternative bearing in mind that what's safe for me may not be for you and vice versa.
By far, the biggest stumbler for me was dermal exposure to fructose in the form of personal care and medicinal products. In particular:
Rx BIEST hormone replacement cream (made of soy and yams!) - none for me.
Any skin cream - ointments
lipstick/chapstick - pure petroleum jelly no additives
Rx otic antibiotics - hydrogen peroxide (flush)and homemade antiobiotic and cortisone ointment mixed 50/50 (Tirple Antiibotic ointment in white petroleum and Maximum Strength Cortizone.10)
Toothpaste - Sensodyne Full Protection (does contain flouride)
mouthwash - Cepacol Antibacterial
Body lotion - Curel Fragrance Free
In addition:
Annato and apocartenoid coloring - only buy food items w/o coloring.
Eggs and foods containing them - only use whites and make/bake everything from scratch.
Cooking/non-stick sprays - Pam Grilling Spray or shortening coated w/white rice flour.

Hi Deb, sorry if I have misread this post but do you mean Sensodyne is not safe, and I am not sure what you mean about eggs. I thought they were safe. I have been having all sorts of trouble with my skin. I have spent years trying to find a safe skin cream and finally found Clinique Redness Relief Creme. This is good for me. Anything with any hint of herbal sends my skin reeling and I get the worst headache that lasts for days. I recently used a shampoo I thought would be safe but oh no, I am still paying the price. Any suggestions for shampoo and conditioner? Oh, and as far as safe ingrediants, my daughter gave me a drink (Santitarium Up and Go, vanilla). Dont go there. Later I found it contained Fructose and Inulin. Bad news. Margy

Hi Margy, if you key into search you will see old posts about eggs and yes, apparently they do have fructose in them, My daughter megs isn't good with eggs - they send her into a real rage!!! but everyones tolerances are different so you may be ok with them.
