The day's just beginning here in the SW but once I'm done feeding animals and setting up pasture, I will scramble a few egg whites and toast some Chebe bread for breakfast/lunch. Afternoon snack is usually a sour cream and white rice flour cupcake or Plain Thai rice crackers w/cheese (uncolored, no additives), along w/club soda. For dinner, I'm fixing rotisserie chicken and white rice pasta w/parmesean and romano cheese. Throughout the day, I drink lots of organic green tea (3X day sweetened w/dextrose) and purified well water. Now out to bottle-feed twin baby Silky goats - the best part of my day. Deb Mc

Regina had Triscut crackers with Whipped Philly cream cheese, (such a good mom making such a good breakfast for her), Chicken Pot Pie from a local restaurant - for those not from the amish area of central PA, there is a recipe posted on here for this. It's just a dough-like thick noodle, chicken, potatoes and gravy.
Cheeseburg with dill relish and mustard (no bun)
Lipton stroganoff noodle sides
Chocolate Milk - made with nestle Chocolate that we can no longer find. It was changed to contain sucralose.
diet Pepsi
I think when we get home from work (evening shift) we're going to have pizza. Domino's thin crust with just cheese for her.

McD's in the states has everything on it's website. Regina usually has Chicken McNuggets or a plain Fish Fillet without the bun. Fries. If we are there in the morning, then just the egg and cheese without the muffin and hashbrowns.

Shredded Wheat is o.k.? When I checked on a nutrition site www.nutritiondata.com/facts/breakfast-cereals/1622/2 it is listed as having 253 mg of sucrose. My kids like Shredded Wheat but we having been cutting out all the fructose, sucrose, etc. We make bread for them with white flour (with no malted barley flour) and dextrose instead of sugar. This has worked great.

If the latter, could you please share the recipe? <lol> If I ate any of the above menus other than my own, I'd die a very torturous death, and that's from ingestion of just 1 food item, wouldn't make it through the whole day's worth. Again, I think how much fructose one can tolerate depends on level of enzyme present or the extent of deficiency. Most if not all of these folks here appear to have only partial deficiencies or less severe forms of fructose intolerance. Deb Mc

For breakfast I ate filmjölk (a Swedish alternative to yogurth, some kind of butter-milk would probably best describe it) with sunflower seeds and a Swedish brand of müsly that is safe. A sandwich of white safe bread with cheese, and tea with milk. For lunch I made boiled cod with a sauce made from the water from the boiling, some cream, a pinch of dill, a chopped boiled egg and a handful of shrimp. Yummy! (Oh, a little bit of boiled potatoes with that.) Mid-afternoon I made some scones with my daughter and a friend of hers. Dinner was uninspired, pasta with fried falu sausage (a Swedish type of sausage that is "almost" safe). A large cup of tea with lots of milk will end this day - as most days.

We tried shredded wheat but i guess it didn't work because of the fructan issue as Deb has pointed out. I'm not sure if the fructans are a problem for HFI or just FM. but be careful as shredded wheat are whole wheat which does have a higher element of fructose in it. On a really paranoid note, is it absolutely sugar free or contaminated, here Nestle make it and loads of other types of sugar loaded cereals so you do wonder.

I've never had an issue with Shredded Wheat (although I usually eat a generic version). I've had a few alternate versions of Shredded Wheat that had obvious dustings of powdered sugar on them. Trader Joe's and Mini Wheats are two major offenders. If you see something white on your biscuits, it's probably sugar. I've become more concerned with Post Shredded Wheat since they started their "flavored" biscuit line (vanilla, strawberry, etc.). What I ate today: Shredded Wheat & Milk Water Darjeeling Tea Latte Palak Paneer (yummy white rice, spinach, cheese, naan) peanut butter toast milk lime tortillas

I am so jealous that you can get sugar-free bacon. I have searched all sites here to no avail. Even though the lables say a low sugar content, its enough to cause trouble. Makes me sick as a dog! Does anyone have trouble with mashed potato. I use dirty or brushed potatoes (white) but still have problems, also with baked potato. But no problems with chips (fries) or hash browns. I was wondering if the hash browns used elsewhere in the world have dextrose added as here in Oz? Margy Margy

Hi, Margy. I have yet to find a bacon that isn't cured w/some form of sugar. I can't have any potatoes. Some of the instant fllaked potatoes claim on their ingredient listings to have no sugar but when I called and spoke to those companies' nutritionists was told in all cases that they do contain sugar, just not enough to have to report it on the product label. I've read that level of fructose and sucrose vary greatly depending on the method of preparation. So maybe that's why you tolerate some and not others. Here is the states, Ore Ida is one brand that uses dextrose but not in all their frozen potatoes, just some. They also use annatto for coloring which is a fructan or form of fructose. Deb Mc

We are lucky enough to have a local farmer who produces all his own meats, bacons, hams and sausages and I have had a long chat with him and he is doing a batch for Megs with no sugar or dextrose content at all, it might be worth scouting around to see if you have anything like that near you. We do have to drive 30 miles to get it ( a long way for us but I guess a stones throw for most of you!!!!) I do a swap with them, they do my meat, I treat their horses!!!!
Re chips and fries, in England all fries have a coating but chips are supposed to be just potato and fried in oil but guess what I found out recently and noticed they are now owning up to it - they coat them in sugar water to keep frozen ones crisp!!!! no wonder Megs goes off the scale after having them, manic is not the word. I do homemade only of those now too. I think she is oK on white potatoes but there are so many maybes still its not clear.

Lucky ducky you! I'm green w/envy. I've considered doing that but have been reluctant to pursue it due to our extreme -0- tolerance for any form of fructose. For example, I found a place that processes organic bison and they do offer sausages and hot dogs without any sugar but all contain herbs (e.g. paprika, garlic) and other seasonings that we can't have. So even if they produced a special for us there would remain a potential for cross contamination. Given the severity (disability and pain) of our symptoms, there's no way I'm willing to risk it. I'm a farmer, btw, do organic egg production and breed exotic waterfowl and exhibition birds. I can eat egg white, but not the yolks. Thank you for sharing that. It just might explain my recent reaction to fresh, wild caught USA shrimp. I figured sugar was probably being added for freshness somewhere in the handling process. I guess fresh fish is pretty much out now for us as well unless we catch them and clean them ourselves. Really pathetic since our diet is so limited as it is. Deb Mc
