Anyone know of any artifical flavorings that are really fructose and fructan *free* or safe?
I've been using Smarties to flavor ice shavings and so on but that is about the only candy or flavoring that I've found safe. Last time I contacted Wonka, they told me they could no longer guarantee any of their candy to be free of "natural" ingredients regardless of what the ingredient listings say. That included Pixie sticks and Sweet Tarts.
Kool-Aid send me a letter stating their unsweetened orange Kool-Aid and another flavor were indeed fructose/fructan free but I found that not to be true, and am now reluctant to rely on any information provided by product manufacturers and/or agents (e.g. dieticians) thereof.
As a farmer residing in a hot, arid climate (Sonoran Desert), I could certainly use a rehydration drink. Water alone does not do the job for me (kidney issues), never has. I need electrolytes. I found an electrolyte recipe that's okay, just need some sort of flavoring if possible. Can anyone suggest a tried and true fructose/fructan-free flavoring?
TIA,
Deb Mc

I think Smart water has electrolytes. www.vitaminwater.com/ (you'll have to click on Smart Water at the top--it's a horrid flash site and won't allow direct links).
