I eat KFC with no problem from sugar, although their chicken is sometimes too greasy. I also love their biscuits. I think they are safe, but they are very high in fat. Some of the other chicken restaurants put a honey glaze on their biscuits and those are such a disappointment, one accidental bite and my whole meal is ruined.
I noticed someone posted they did not like Popeye's. I go there for the biscuits, which are light and fluffy and better than KFC's.

Hmm, not sure at all about KFC, I found their website again and they seem to have upgraded it again and you can download the ingredients in a PDF file. I'm glad I haven't risked Megs on any of it. Can't see the fries ingredients but I know Megs wasn't good after I tried a packet on her in desperation for food one day. Not sure if this website is just British ingredients or not but here's the link www.kfc.com/nutrition/

Thanks for the link.
The only ingredients listed for the fries that I would worry about are the malted barley flour and the statement that they may contain dextrose--I suspect that dextrose is often not pure.
Of course the way that potatoes are stored affects the sugar content. If they are refrigerated before cooking, I think some of the starch converts to sugar.
Their original recipe chicken does not list any unsafe ingredients except for whatever is in the "secret recipe." I suspect it contains some chicken bouillion, which can have sugar, but it does not taste sweet and I have never had a problem with it.

KFC's secret recipe is plain old monosodium glutamate. It is neurotoxic in concentrations you get when you eat there, i.e., it kills neurons by making them fire all the time and exhaust their energy supply. When you are young, you do not feel any loss of neurons, but when you get old, every neuron counts. MSG is also habit forming in the sense that people tend to eat foods made with it again and again. This is not lost on the KFC owners and other crap food manufacturers who use MSG for that reason alone. It also makes you think you are eating good food when in fact it isn't.

Burger King in the UK is not a good place to eat. I was on my way home late at night and needed some food. I called into a motorway services near Oxford and the only place open was Burger King.. the food smelt great but I asked to see the nutrition book to check what I could risk ordering.. I ended up with fries and 9 chicken nuggets for a sugar load of 2g (not sure which sugar however.) Very expensive and Frankenstein food, well the nuggets were anyway.. I suppose I have eaten worse but not very often and not at that price! £6.48 is legalised robbery! A big whopper burger had 10g of sugar! some meals had over 27g for the main "savoury" part (bun burger etc..) excluding the drink, chips and sweet course.

Ah now we have had good times at Burger King if you get the right staff - that can speak English (sorry forget I said that bit!!!!)
We checked their fries and they were ok for ingredients and their Angus Burgers were ok so what they did is very carefully cooked Meg 2 meat burgers with nothing else added and a packet of fries and a drink as a kids meal so she still got whatever the crap toy being used to lure kids in was. So far, always good, and their fries (in England anyway) are so much better than McD's.

I have no idea why anyone with IBS or IBD would even consider eating at a fast food place. I haven't eaten at McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, In and Out Burger, ... in more than 12 years. Before that I ate a few times at the Burger King and McDonalds in Taiwan with absolutely no problems, but then I wasn't eating American ingredients. Just the idea of eating foods with added antibiotics, hormones, HFCS, ... makes me ill.

You are safe from Antibiotics and in particular Hormones in the UK and the rest of the EU (I think) as they are all banned here. If a cow is given antibiotics and the milk accidentally added to the tank then the whole load ( if uploaded into the tanker) is scrapped. Each farms milk is sampled and tested for every Load! The fines to the farmer are horrible! 4,000+ litres of milk down the drain.. So you can be assured of safe (er) foods in the EU anyway

I can co firm KFC is safe just about everywhere. Now eaten it in the following countries. UK, Czech Republic Australia Germany South Africa I have also eaten other countries own brands of "Southern Fried chicken" Both here in the UK and in in many other countries with no noticable side effects. Just stick to solid meat no food like substances such as popcorn chicken etc and you will be fine. However be aware in some countries the "Brine" their chicken and Turkey. This is usually not safe. Always go for un brined! Enjoy.

The forum owner stops by now and again and removes them. The only thing we can do right now is flag and ignore. They do seem to be hitting the site more heavily now than ever before. Not sure why there's a sudden influx.
