Hi all, think I have finally discovered a safe paracetamol preparation available here in England. It is called Medinol over 6, sugar free. Can you all have a look at these ingredients and see if there is anything you spot that may be a secret fructose ingredient please. Paracetamol BP Sodium Methylhydroxybenzoate E219 Sodium Propylhydroxybenzoate E217 Sodium Saccharin Sodium Cyclamate Tragacanth Lycasin 80/55 Strawberry flavour PFW 50023E Water

When they say strawberry flavour, or cherry flavour, does this mean that there could be fructose hidden? I am wondering as I am looking for an antibiotic for my daughter and an anti histamine with not much luck. If HFIers can have sodium saccharin that will help us heaps.

Sodium saccharin is supposed to be OK but it is how pure everything is, I haven't a clue how they get the flavourings, no one seems to know but they could well have some fructose hidden. I now think for emergency meds if they are really needed eg antibiotics I will risk a bit if it looks low and ride through the symptoms but it is a risk you need to weigh up. The vitamins I have tried Megs on have lemon flavouring and two days after starting them she seems to have started wetting herself in the late afternoons again so maybe there is some in there.
The only option sometimes is to suck it and see!!!!

Thanks we are 5 days into antibiotics and Sarisa is not very well but the infection is just under control. She is reacting but we will persist until the end of the course and then see how she goes without the repeat. thanks for your input. It really helps.
