Have anyone tried the product No-Fenol. I heard it's good for people that can not tolerate fruits and vegetables. The website is www.houston-enzymes.com/. I would like to try it with my son but would like to know if anyone knows this product.

Hi Ana, having looked at the website and their description of the product I'm not sure it is going to be of any benefit to HFI sufferers as it is the fructose sugar in fruit and veg that cannot be tolerated due to the specific missing enzyme in the liver that is important in removing it .

Hi,
I take 3 of their enzymes- Zyme Prime, AFP Pepticide, and No-Fenol. I take the first 2 with each meal and only take the No-Fenol when I go out to eat just in case something has an ingredient I don't know about. They have helped me out greatly. I don't eat any fruit whatsoever and only the veggies on the HFI list, so I don't use No-Fenol to try and eat something I shouldn't eat. One thing I noticed right away is I find that when I take all 3, it really helps with being able to eat a bit of popcorn. It may help me with digestion too since I also have Celiac disease and am missing a portion of my intestines so I don't really have a lot of enzymes to even help with any part of digestion. Like Charlie says, it wouldn't help with the missing enzyme in the liver. Since taking the enzymes I don't have burning in my belly, that heavy bloated feeling, and I don't get so tired after eating. The doctor at the site is very helpful and answers emails right away. I hope this helps.

I bought the No Fenol chewables but my son had a terrible reaction. His behavior completely changed crying, biting, hitting, etc. I think is because it contains fructose. I think they sale a rice no fenol.

All of their chewable items contain fructose. The ones in a capsule or powder form are great. You can take it out of the container and stir it into water or food if he is unable to swallow pills. I use the powder and stir it in my water before meals.
