For those of you who use peanut butter, what do you use? I've been using a Smucker's Natural. I really like it, but after it's been in the fridge to long and the oil get's used up, it's harder than heck to get out and spread. I know all the natural peanut butter I've seen has to be refridgerated after opening, but I was so mad today I actually threw half a jar away. Any body know of any that doesn't have to be refrigerated?

Gretchen what you need to do is mix up the PB, blend it thoroughly before refrigerating for the first time.
I generally tip the jar upside down for a while before blending - it helps.
Good luck! KJ

I use the Kirkland Signatures organic peanut butter. No blending or refrigeration required. Ingredients are organic peanuts, organic palm oil and sea salt. Gillianne tolerates it well and loves it on her celery.

I found one yesterday that's Krema natural. It doesn't require refridgeration, but does have alot of oil. I tasted it and it's pretty good. It seems smoother like "regular" peanut butter. With school starting again, he eats peanut butter sandwich's almost daily so we go through it faster than we did this summer. I did e-mail the lady in charge of school lunchs and am making her get me ingredient lists on some food that he might be able to have(chicken nuggets etc). I'm sure she loved that request. LOL!! He loves hot lunch so it would be nice to let him eat it sometimes. I have to make sure everyone knows what's going on though. Last year he ate lunch one time and they made him take the cherries they had even though he told them he couldn't have them. I think alot of these kids just say that to get out of fruits and veggies, but I'll have to make it clear to the lunch people. Sometimes I think it would just be easier to keep him home. Then I realize I would go insane!!!LOL

Since my son has Celiac (Gluten intolerance) and DFI, lunch at daycare is difficult. Peanut Butter is a lifesaver on gluten free crackers, pancakes, and celery. I just found out that some newer Safeway stores have a peanut grinder to make your own peanut butter in the store. Just peanuts and nothing else. Just how I like it, the easier the better. I want to try the Kirkland brand now though.

Up here in Canada we have sugar free and slat free peanut butter by Presidents Choice, Kraft also makes the same and in Florida (Cocoa Beach) I found lots of sugar free peanut butters. Also the health food stores that allow you to grind your own are helpful. Unfortunately the schools here won't allow PB for lunch or any nuts at any time - Nadine
