Graham has celiac and autism in addition to HFI. He cannot tolerate cow dairy..... whether it's related to his autism or an allergy, I don't know. So, I've been toying with the idea of trying goat milk products. Well, imagine my joy when I was at Whole Foods and found goat milk yogurt!! Here are the ingredients: Pasteurized whole goat milk, tapioca, pectin and live, active yogurt cultures-l. bulgaricus, s. thermophilus, l. acidophilus and bifidus. What is the consensus on pectin? Thanks! Erica

Hmmm... everyone else sumped too? I guess I'll call and see how much pectin is contained in each cup and go from there. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Hi, If you find he can eat it, I'll be interested how it goes. I also have Celiac disease and haven't been able to introduce cow dairy in. I have been doing ok with goat cheese every once in awhile on my pizza. If goat milk yogurt works, that will be great. I also found goat milk kefir at Whole Foods. I haven't tried it yet. Good luck!

I always find wiklipedia useful for research, this is a link to the pectin page. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pectin My concern would be how is it produced and from how pure a source. If you are very reactive could it be risky if not pure? As it is a derivative of fruit or veg stems it could have some fructose element to it or poss convert to fructose element as broken down. Sorry not a chemist but have some basic knowledge and I would err on side of caution.
