You would think by definition sour dough bread would have no sugar added as the chef would want to keep it sour.
I have been trying french bread and stuff. Places say they have sour dough but then don't actually have it like when you go to the store.
This happened when I went to subway and dunking doughnuts today.
Mabye I need to change to a DFI forum if you all cannot relate to this.
I almost got sour dough pretzels today.
Wegmans has a book to confirm no sugar added to thier sour dough breads, but not Panera when I went yesterday.
Maybe the casheir was less competant than needed who knows.

Panera has a good website with the ingredients for all their bread. They *should* have a book in the store (I've read through it many times), but as you said, the people behind the counter may not have been cooperating. Their sourdough does not have sugar or fructose in it. www.panerabread.com

You will find that makes vary and one will have sugar in it others won't. You need to check anything new several times in different ways to check ok before trying it. If you can you are better to homemake as much as possible, you will become a very proficient cook in your quest to stay healthy. If you had gallstones you need to keep an eye on fat content. You may find those inflamed your bowel and stomach and it is more something like that than HFI if symptoms came on recently, chances are most fatty foods will also contain some sort of fructose element.
