For the past week or so I have REALLY not wanted to eat anything. Just the thought of forcing myself to consume something makes me really apathetic. I feel like a kid that's forced into cleaning their room before they go outside to play. I'm presuming this was because I ran out of shredded wheat and now I have to eat oatmeal--which is just mushy and ploppy and gross.
Of course, potato chips don't count. I'll always eat potato chips, until I hit a salt-overload, that is.
I even made my favorite homemade chicken & noodles and STILL I didn't want to eat any.
I think I must have had some sugar in the past few weeks. I can't think of any other reason I wouldn't be interested in eating at all.

It's Mike-Sarah's Husband--she's never an aversion to food for more than a day after becoming sick--until she was pregnant....even before she could take the test...
On a separate note-have you tried Shredded Wheat nachos--put (low fat/non-fat) shredded cheese on top of Shredded Wheat, heat in microwave and top with the Ranch Powder and the sugar-free (fake) bacon bits--be careful-as if dry shredded wheat wasn't a choking hazard in itself, the dry ranch powder makes it worse--but tasty--add olives if you want and salt if you need a salt fix without the chips.

Oh yeah, have you tried Steel Cut Oatmeal? It takes about 20-30 minutes to cook, but is not mushy ploppy, sloshie, or gross. And, it's better for you.--I (mike) eat it plain and use it in smoothies-which I know and Sarah reminds me-that it tastes bland without sugar, but you can add milk, oatmeal, cinnamon,, very finely ground coffee (kind of a tiramasu thing) or EVEN pixie sticks.

I'm just reading through all these posts at the same time, so they are clumping together in my head, but I bet it would be really good to take Fred's potatos, and put some of the ranch powder on them. That would make some really good tasting taters, too. And yep Fred, we have triscuts. I bet they would work well with Mikes Nachos idea, too. And hmmmmmmmm, what do you think about Mike's first comment? ?? Could be.........

I think I am in the middle of one of those "food funks" right now. Not much of an appetite at all.
I'm with Fred...nothing like a big juicy steak to snap me out of it!!!

Nate loves steel cut oatmeal with a bit of cinnamon and vanilla. Takes a while to prepare, but definitely worth the effort for the extra taste.
I'm wondering about Mike's comment too. When I was pregnant with Ashley I could not even smell coffee without getting nauseous and I am an extreme coffeeholic. I drank a quart of milk a day and ate fruit like it was going out of style (I hate milk except on cereal). With Nate, I was barely hungry, had to force down fruit and mostly ate chicken, meat and cheese. Hmmmm. Could it be...?

LOL, well... I'm not trying YET. Not that I wouldn't be happy about it, but it would be a tad unexpected. You guys are too funny. I'm going to write down these ideas and try them this week.

we are going to try making a bunch and freezing it in ziplocks-for quick single servings--if you do a google search you can find a whole bunch of ways people make and freeze the steel cut oatmeal. I haven't seen it, but I read that Trader Joe's sells the oatmeal in frozen single serve packets, but it is very expensive.
