Hey Gang,
I'm just curious if you all eat cilantro. To me, it tastes AWFUL, and I can't touch the stuff. I've heard the dislike of cilantro can be related to a genetic condition (great, like I need another one of THOSE).
Did you all taste the piece of paper in high school biology class, where some had to spit it out because it tasted so bad, and others didn't notice? I've heard cilantro has a similar chemical that causes people to be genetically pre-disposed to liking it or disliking it.
Anyway, just curious.

Interesting. I've never heard that. I think Cilantro tastes bitey-hot, but not bad in any other way. I've never given it to Regina because she doesn't like hot tastes. I only ever use a tiny bit in salsa, which she can't have anyway.
And now I feel all deprived. In my high school biology class, I didn't get to taste any paper. Bummer. So which were you? The eater or the spitter?

I was a spitter. Blech. I'm the same way with cilantro. I can sense even just a little bit of it in food.
I always wondered if it was related to my sugar thing, but I'm guessing not. Just unlucky, I suppose.

Also not fond of cilantro. I went to Mexico with my in-law family and everyone was all ga-ga for the cilantro salsa. I just made a face. I don't see the attraction. I mean, I think I can eat it. I don't try to avoid it like the plague (aka sugar), but I don't go all gushy for it. Looks like parsley and tastes grosser.

Mike: Sarah likes cilantro, not as much as other herbs/spices, but doesn't mind it. I on the other hand, don't like the taste.
