Night probs-Tummy aches, struggle to pass gas.

I just stumbled across this thread. I have been having issues with my youngest, since she had a bad viral bug that upset her tummy (no vomiting or diarrhea, just bad gas) she has been having tummy issues during the night. She is restless and says ouch etc.. Until she passes wind then settles and all repeats itself again. She also has been very constipated to the point the stool was very hard like clay. She is on high fiber diet and stool softener which is working.

My Q is, has anyone been through this? Should I be getting a referral to a specialist. The GP says its constipation related??

P.s. She also has had small dry pimples down her arms. You cant see it just feel it. It gets itchy at time. The dr doesnt seem to be worried.

Forgot to add, she had the viral bug about 2.5mths ago..

I don't know about the main question, but the P.S. question is Keratosis Pilaris. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris My brother and I both have it. I don't believe it is connected to DFI or HFI as other members of my family also have it.

It's not a serious condition. Looks like it occurs in nearly half of the population.
