I was just looking for some information on fructose sources, and I just learned that semen contains fructose. Fructose makes up 99% of the sugar present in semen. I don't even know how to ask this, but as long as it isn't ingested and filtered through the liver, is it ok? How do people take this into account with their significant other? Any insight would be helpful in this matter. Thanks.

Mike here: we are all adults here-and I'll keep this as clean and professional as possible. Sarah, who is a bit more sensative than most, was diagnosed at age 13 and we started dated when we were 17--needless to say, we learned this a while ago. There are basically two schools of thouht couples use for dealing with semen--one does not give her any complications, one does. While I'm not a doctor, I can't imagine that a significant amount of semen/sugar is absorbed into the blood stream the "old fashion" way." So, to answer your question, as long as it isn't digested and filtered through the liver, I can't imagine a problem. Also, as we know, everyone's tolerance is different....so, who knows..... (of course it takes a question like this to finally get a response from me

When I was diagnosed they told me that "Of Course you will be sterile you know"
TO which I replied that this was defiantly NOT the case as I had already had a Son and we had absolutely NO problem with conceiving.. nearly quite the opposite to be precise :0
I have since fathered 3 other children (with my wife I hasten to add) again not all planned. So it seems there is no problems there!
When we Planned a child she was pregnant more or less instantly.
So if there are any Male HFI who have been told the same rubbish about being Sterile be careful mate its not necessarily so!
