2 eggs 1 1/2 cup Dextrose 3 tablespoons butter 1 cup butter milk 1 tsp Vanilla (make is pure) 1 tsp soda
Beat the above items together about 5 minutes.
add 3 1/2 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/8 tsp nutmeg
Heat Lard or cooking oil in a pan on stove. Drop in doughnuts. They should sink then float when they come up flip tell they look done.

Nancy- I would really appreciate the recipe for syrup. I am assuming it is like maple syrup. Also, any other recipes that you have for quick treats that I can make ahead and take with us on trips would be great. My son is 20 months old and he has been on the HFI diet for 4 months, so we are still trying to figure things out. Thank, Jen F>

I don't have an exact recipe but, this is what I do. I boil about 2 cups water and add about 1 cup Dextrose and about 1/4th cup barley malt syrup (verify this for HFI Diet). I don't think it taste like Maple Syrup but, it is sweet and my son likes it. I would like to thicken it but, have not tried. Any ideas?
We also use the chocolate syrup recipe I posted on pancakes and waffles. I make extra waffles and pancakes and just pop them in the toaster for a quick breakfast. I also keep a stash of approved candy, chips, cookies, and cheezits in our car. I will submit a few more recipes.

this recipe is GREAT!!! Thankyou!! How hot did you put your burner to heat and keep the oil hot? My whole family loves these donuts!!

I deep fry at 335 degrees for a few minutes for doughnut balls using 1 tsp of dough.
Nate brought these to school today for a holiday class treat. He was so excited. We've made them 3 or 4 times now.
I also add 6 packets of stevia to the mix and dust with cinnamon/dextrose mixture after frying.
