In search of a cool treat I made some Popsicles for my son. I found a great mold at target that uses Popsicle sticks (I took the Popsicles out and put them in plastic bags then I could make more using the one tray).
these are the ones I made and they were a hit:
chocolate yogurt (plain yogurt with dextrose and cocoa powder to taste).
sugar free jello - I added about 3 cups of water to the package that calls for 2.
Homemade vanilla Ice Cream (see recipe). It is soft enough to put in a mold when first made.
I tried a peppermint tea but it was not as well received but, my son is not crazy about tea. I thought they were good.

To make myself popsicles I mix Pixie Sticks and yogurt-and freeze. They come out really good.

I found LifeSaver flavored popsicles with no sugar!! They are really good, but hard to find.

I will be looking for the lifesaver Popsicles at all my shopping spots. Since we started this diet I now shop at Sam's, Cub, Rainbow, Simon Delivers, Festival, super target, and Fresh & Natural. I also just added a bakery supply place that is just down the street that has Dextrose and Glucose (a bit expensive but, handy).

We had Aldi's open up yesterday in town and I found some Popcicle brand one's that are diet A &W rootbeer, Diet orange crush and diet Dr Pepper tasting that are ok. They're pretty good. I took a bite off all the one's the kids had!!! Pretty cheap too!! Aldi's is known for having lower priced stuff. Most of their stuff is their brand. You have to pay .25 for a cart and then you get it back at the end. You buy the bags and have to bag stuff yourself, but I got a whole cartload of stuff for $50. Usually I drop at least $100 each time.
