Melt 1 stick of margarine on low heat. Stir in 3/4 cup flour until you form a paste. Add approx. 1 1/2 quart milk slowly. Add a little, stiring the paste, add a little more, etc until the paste is liquid again. Add 2 bags of dried beef. Cook over med heat until it starts to boil. Let set a few minutes and it'll thicken up.
This is good over pancakes or waffles made with Bisquick or Jiffy Mix. I eat mine over toast.

Dried Beef is slightly dried, salted, sometimes smoked beef. I get it in any grocery store. It's usually near the luncheon meats. Some may call it chipped beef. It's everywhere here, and I've seen it in AZ, so I would think it'd be everywhere. It's probably in the Beef Jerky family, but sliced thin and not spiced, and not dried as hard so it's not as tough.
Cream of Dried Beef is also commonly known as SOS around here. Stands for Same Old Slop. (Or as the older soldiers say.....SameOldnuts).
