Biscuits
125g butter
3 teaspoons sesame seeds
1 cup rolled oats
1-cup plain flour or ½ cup wholemeal flour & ½ cup white flour
¾ cup dextrose
1 teaspoon bi carb soda
Mix all dry ingredients into a bowl.
In other bowl melt butter completely, then add to dry ingredients,
Mix as best you can then add small amounts of boiling water
Until you have mixed into a dough. Spoon large teaspoon fulls
Onto a grease tray roughly. Cook 20 – 30 mins in 180 degrees
Until slightly coloured check at 20 mins, cool on wire rack
These are great for toddlers morning tea will freeze and micro wave to thaw
Cheese Sauce
3 cups Milk
100g butter
3 tablespoons plain flour
1 cup grated Cheese
Melt better, take off heat stir/whisk in flour, add milk slowly whisking until all in and smooth.
Put on heat stir until boiling, turn to low add cheese and whisk for 3-4 mins
Can put little plastic bags in muffin trays and fill each one then freeze.
When solid pull out plastic bags and throw into back of freezer for when you want some quick sauce.
I use to pour over pasta, fish, and rice.
Lemon butter
4 those that can
3 egg yolks
½ cup dextrose
2 tablespoons flour
grated rind and juice 2 lemons,
4 tablespoons water.
Mix egg yolks, sugar, flour and lemon rind in the top of a double saucepan and gradually stir in lemon juice and water.
Cook, stirring constantly, over boiling water until mixture thick and smooth. Cool and pour into jar.
Keep in fridge.
