So, I have been experimenting with diet drinks (zero sugar).. Tried Pepsi max, and Coke Zero with no problems. Today I tried 7up zero… and I don’t know… I feel weird.. I’m not sure if this is a reaction to fructose or something else.. I noticed after I started drinking, and I ended up drinking the whole bottle in a two hours 1lt 250ml.. I was feeling the salt craving and ate more than I usually eat.. I’ve tried drinking as much Coke Zero in a day and didn’t feel like this. I never had an aversion to lemon sour taste, although sweet things made me want to vomit if they’re orange or fruity.. exception was allways lemon and Coca Cola flavors.. Has anyone here ever tried diet drinks including energy drinks that are “zero sugar” and had a reaction? Again, I’m not sure how to describe this reaction, it could be related to something else but I do feel weird..

How are your liver results? I have never been able to tolerate anything tasting sweet at all and have been made extremely ill by accidentally mistaking a glass of coke for Guinness. The ultra sensitivity of my taste buds have and do save me even now from at least weekly accidental dosage of fructose or sucrose. Always with foods that claim to have no added sugar.. yet do. Sometimes it is just different varieties of a vegetable (Potato is a classic example) that can catch you out if not really sensitive to the sweet flavour. The other problem you may well come across is the batch processing used in factories. They do not have specific equipment to make say Coke Zero and a separate set to make normal Coke. They will use the same plant in the factory. So the first few bottles or cans being filled might well have quite a high level (if not close to pure) of the wrong type of coke or drink in there. I have had issues with small shredded wheat with exactly this situation. clearly the filling out equipment had not been cleaned between filling out a batch of highly sugared variety of mini Wheats before they then filled out a pack of unsweetened.. so I could taste the sugar luckily and avoid poisoning myself.

I haven’t had my liver test done in years to be fair… I gave up. Literally, I go by how I feel, and after drinking that amount of 7up, “zero sugar” I am still recovering. Like I said, not sure if t was the hidden fructose or something else. Obviously the artificial sweeteners aren’t healthy and whatever is also used. Bill, when it comes to Coke Zero, for whatever reason it’s one of those sweet things that since I was a child I craved, but wasn’t able to drink or eat it on the form of lollipops., Maybe the acidic combination with the caramel taste or whatever was/is behind it, but I certainly hate seeet things and even the smell of it. Name honey, bananas as the worst…
But bill I got another question in regards to natural flavors now in meat.. I’m moving to the Netherlands again, and the cheapest meat in supermarkets allways have natural flavor… check this.. tell me what you think and if it’s safe.. because I don’t want to eat pork everyday once I’m there…
Ingredients: 98% beef, natural flavor, antioxidant (sodium ascorbate [E301], sodium citrates [E331]). Of which added sugars 0.00g per 100 grams and of which added salt 0.00g per 100 grams This a pack of ground beef 500g

IT SAYS 0,9 grams of CARBS PER 100g of meat? Are you kidding me.. and none of it sugars?! So what is it then.,? How does beef have almost one gram of carbs per 100g? Per meal I will eat minimum 300g, that’s almost 3 grams of carbs.. say what?

the mince should be safe the vinegar will be acetic acid which is safe. Sorry I did not get my usual email to say I have messages. lol. OK yes "Natural flavourings" is usually a cover for added sugars. Chicken should be safe and fish also. Lamb (if you can afford it) should be safe also. There are real butchers around who will mince meat for you if you ask nicely and explain why. Watch smoked bacon or any "smoked" products. they usually give me a kicking. The Smoke flavour is usually painted on (I joke not) and is a concoction of nasties and sugars. A good cheap cut of meat to get is stewing beef. This is for slow cooking only though, a minimum of 2 hours to 12 hours to get the most out of it. Funnily enough the cheapest cut is the skirt (in the UK) this is of course the part used by McDonalds to make their burgers. The wholesale price is around £10 a kilo yet McDonalds sell the whole 1/4 lb big mac meal to the franchise holder for 50p That is everything the 226g of beef (£1.14) the chips, drink, sauces etc. So one wonder what the hell is in there given they claim it is 100% beef?? The big problem in my opinion with the HFI diet is the cost. Meat is expensive and what we need to mostly eat.
