I have been corrupted by you guys! I've rarely thought about eating candy or other unnecessary stuff apart from popcorn, chips and the occasional sugar-free pastille. My only vice was the Friday evening's nibble on a dark chocolate that is 85% cocoa (so percentage-wise the sugar content is low). After reading about all the things so many others eat I've been corrupted into trying a few "sweets". Most I didn't like (which is a relief 'cause I don't really *want* to like 'em), but I found a sugar-free candy that I do like! It's a soft salt liquorice that contains maltitol which usually work for me - at least in moderate amounts. I'm eating a few right now - in the middle of a ordinary day at work! I am shocked and appalled at myself!

Good for you!!! LOL. We all deserve a few treats every now and then.
I'm curious about the pastille. What is that?
I know what you mean about not wanting to like the sweets. I think I read that we can technically drink a diet Pepsi, but the idea of it just makes me ill. I certainly don't want to teach myself to drink it after all these years. But I'll always have my Pixies and Smarties...Yummy!!

The pastilles that I've eaten is Läkerol, a Swedish brand, they are available in many countries, at least in Europe. An English version of their web-page is here: www.laekerol.ch/sin/default_d.asp?lang=d&coun=sinIt was developed to soothe a sore throat, like a cough drop I guess. To quote their own words: the mild freshness of Läkerol stimulates, soothes the throat, and gives your breath a long-lasting clean feeling. Impressive, right? ;D I can eat them without problems, at least a few now and then, but the ingredients vary a bit from flavour to flavour.

Yay! I love corrupting people!! At least you've found a few new foods that you can enjoy. I was enjoying some red licorice this weekend and chanced eating some doritos, even though they listed sugar wayyyy down towards the bottom of the ingredients. I wouldn't drink diet pepsi, either. gross-gross-gross. I do recall drinking it as a kid. For some odd reason, at the age of 7, I had come to the confound decision that sugar-free drinks would be okay for me to drink. I tried a diet pepsi, but still found it gross.

Diet Pepsi is one of the things that Regina drinks. But watch the diet Coke. Coke switched some of it's diet to Splenda, so you have to read every bottle to be sure. But Diet Pepsi is still safe. Regina likes the caffeine free the best. I don't think it's quite as "bitey". Most times when she goes to the fridge and gets her own drink, it'll be milk. Sometimes pepsi, and never tea. Fred, I remember your sen sen's. Horrid little things. Every now and again you can still find them around here, but I don't look for them. Kids around here ate them for the same reason - to cover your breath from whatever may have been on it. Of course, we all thought they were so terrible, that was the only time anyone ever ate them. Guess that would have kind of given it away anyway. If you could smell the sen sen, you knew. lol. And I like your little skeleton just a peddling away.
