Currently, a Medical diagnosis of HFI does not distinguish between Aldolase B and Fructose Bi-Phosphatase enzyme dis-function. The list below are methods by which Fructose Metabolism (HFI) the medical diagnosis may occur.
- There is no industry accepted published medical diagnostic criteria for a HFI diagnosis... A Doctor's opinion is an opinion, hopefully confirmation testing will direct the doctor to an appropriate cause/treatment, if available.-
... Virus infecting the replication Transcription Factor (HMF3 -ALDOB or HMF4 - FBPase) that prevents the creation of the corresponding Enzyme.
... Virus infecting the Autophagy process that cleans broken enzymes from a cell.
... Hydroxynaphthaldehyde Phosphate (Schiff base, derivatives of) cause defective Enzymes of Fructose 1,6 Biphosphatase, may be released from some microorganisms.
... Carboxypeptidase A. (CBP derivatives of) are released from some microorganisms and can cause the creation of non functioning Aldalose B.
... A genetic mutation in the Aldalose B Gene, very few have been identified to cause medical HFI (2-6% of alternative AldoB Genes... Commercial Genetic testing is inconclusive.)
... A genetic defect in the FBPase Gene, (several known defects exist.)
... A virus may be attached to the outside of a cell (via its own adhesion protein) or in contact with a cell and may induce "neurological issues" that prevent proper Enzyme function. (a characteristic of some Enteroviruses)
... Genetic defects and other issues with breakdown, transformation and absorption of Sucrose and Sorbitol in the small intestine are often times mistakenly attributed to HFI (primarily Liver Enzyme metabolism).
