Hello! Has anyone had a colonoscopy recently? Would love to know if they found a suitable drink you could take before.. I found the inactive ingredients for the drink my doctor is prescribing and it is:
inactive ingredients: acesulfame potassium, cranberry flavor, disodium edetate, malic acid, sodium benzoate, sodium hydroxide, sodium metabisulfite, sucralose, and water. The cranberry flavor contains glyceryl triacetate (triacetin), maltodextrin and sodium octenyl succinated starch.
I imagine it being prescription the sucralose and maltodextrin would be pure? Any thoughts on this? Would you take it? It’s just the easy way because it’s just two small bottles vs the old way of drinking a gallon. And I’d rather take this than the old way.
All the advice is so appreciated!

Hi I have recently had a colonoscopy in the UK finding a "Clean Prep" that was safe was not easy at all. Eventually the hospital found one that was full of saccharine and orange flavour.
It was terrible trying to get it down and not vomit it back up again. However I managed.
Just keep on at them and remember to say that for you Fructose is TOXIC to us. HFI should be called Hereditary Fructose Toxicity because in most cases an "intolerance" just means a lumpy stomach for a few hours.
Keep smiling hope all go's well

Homeopaths are licensed Medical Doctors that would stay clear of chemicals like Sucralose and may very well teach a person how to make sure their medicines stay clean as nd are safe for a particular problem a patient might have.

Hummm Homeopaths.... I know several people who died as a result of following the "advice" of Homeopaths instead of having proper medical treatment. So please let's not go there OK?

Thank you ukbill! That you got through it gave me some peace as I’m also concerned that if my sugar were to drop, unlike people without our condition, I certainly can’t reach for a sugar drink either. I agree with you the name of our condition doesn’t emphasize the toxic nature of fructose in our system. I researched and wanted to share what I found over here and my medical doctor approved of it. I know products in the US that I found all had sucrose or sucralose. I told my doctor who recommended a different protocol but the magnesium citrate drinks and Senna I found still had sucrose. After researching, I found a Canadian company makes “Natural Calm” — it’s a magnesium citrate and their unflavored has zero flavors and zero additives. No sugars of any sort. It’s a powder. I’m not recommending this to anyone I’m just putting it on here in case it can help someone else. I’m relieved to have found a protocol that could potentially work.

Glad you found a safe option. It is posible to go on a water only diet for 48+ hours and have an enema before the colonoscopy as an option. However it is by no means as good an option. I did this when no safe alternative could be found in time. Less effective at cleaning out the gut but do-able.
Thanks for sharing.
