How do people do with quinoa? I thought it was supposed to be low in fructose but did not do well with it. Night sweats, shaking, etc. anyone have an idea on this? Thank you!

It’s quite high in sucrose. My food intolerance app says there are 1.4g sucrose and 0.55g oligosaccharides (another potential source of fructose) per 100g cooked quinoa. One cup is approximately 185g, so that’s about 2g sucrose and 0.83g oligosaccharides per 1 cup serving. I’m sorry it made you sick

Thank you so much for your reply! What food intolerance app do you use? Sounds like a good one for me to have. I’m super new to this 😬

Of course, it’s called the Baliza Food Intolerances app (logo is a big strawberry). I like it because it gives the breakdown between the different types of sugars including sorbitol. A lot of people, including doctors and dietitians, don’t realize sorbitol is naturally occurring in many plants. The color coding is not relevant to HFI though. Just ignore it.
