Have any HFIers visited and/or lived in Spain?
We would like to travel there (once it is safe) and perhaps even relocate if the States continue to deteriorate in every way. I'd love to find out more about doctors/diet, etc. while in Spain.

They have a very active HFI group there. They are on Facebook. I do not blame you at all, you will find food so much safer and better in Spain. Their health Service is top notch also. And they do like to Party hard! Going out to a club at 2 am after a lazy restaurant meal starting at midnight is quite normal. According to some Spanish Girls I met in London a few years back.

Thanks, Bill. It is good to see you back and feeling well! My great-great-grandfather was from Spain. From everything I have read, they have great healthcare, excellent schools and of course, fresh clean food, and low crime....none of which we have here in Florida.

And a very relaxed view to life. In many places a 2 hour Siesta in the middle of the day is still common. In many places there are a high number of English living there so plenty of English speakers too

I've read that the Alicante region has a lot of Brits! We are doing Spanish lessons using Babbel so that we can at least get the basics down :-)

I've traveled to Spain. While paella is generally no bueƱo for us, I did not find it to be more challenging to find safe food than the home in the states... the healthcare system is not perfect, but superior to ours in many ways.
