I read somewhere on the board that some of you think monk fruit is safe. Just to let you know, it is not safe. It contains fructose. I am so sensitive to fructose that I can only eat meat and dairy. If I have anything with the tiniest bit of fructose, besides pain under my sternum and in my digestive tract, it also raises my cortisol level and causes insomnia. I tried a small amount of monk fruit extract. It caused all of the above symptoms. To me, that means that there is some fructose in it. So think twice before you use it.

Why would anyone with HFI want to eat sweet flavours?? It makes absolutely no sense to me.. I understand parents who do not understand the condition to wish to give their children sweet flavours (becasue of their own addiction) however this is NEVER a good idea.
