I read that pure corn syrup is 100% glucose, does anyone have references for this or know if it's safe to consume? (Obviously I'm not talking about high fructose corn syrup )

Good question! I'm not sure, but here is a link I've looked at before: www.madehow.com/Volume-4/Corn-Syrup.htmlFrom this link it gives the impression that corn syrup is pure glucose. High fructose corn syrup is then made by converting some of the glucose in corn syrup into fructose. But there are some other people who have looked into it more and I'm sure they will be along soon to answer your question.

it is supposedly safe nowever I belive that the source is very important, and the quality can vary a lot. Given that eating sweet flavoured foods makes us feel sick its not something any of us should be eating anyway.
