My son is 14 and still has liver damage, although his diet has been strict for 9 years. We started him on this supplement, SAMe, which we purchase from NOW foods (other brands are not safe). Here are the Ingredients: Cellulose, Croscarmellose Sodium, Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source), Silica, Stearic Acid (vegetable source), Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid and Enteric Coating (water, methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate, glycerin).
We started him on SAMe originally as mood support. But in our last MRI we discovered his liver had shrunk 4 cm! The doctor said there is no research in HFI and SAMe but there IS conclusive research that it helps regenerate cirrhotic livers. Do some research! I recommend this product!

Wow, this is impressive. I am so glad for you all. This certainly could be a very valuable post for others....
Any follow-up? (not to pry, only if you don't mind)

That is interesting. I too take slow release Vitamin C and D3 in olive oil (because I work nights.). As far as I can see from the ingredients of that vitamin there is only vitamin C in it that is active. How much Vitamin C is there in those "vitamins" ? I would suggest that many of the supposed health benefits are fake (like Silver for Covid 19 and Bicarbonate of Soda for cancer) however avoiding the Fructose associated with fruit is a very good idea. At least with this there is good scientifically proven link between Fructose and all the key disease's that are effecting our populations world wide. Watch Professor Lustig's video "Sugar the bitter truth" on Youtube. I am 64 and apparently my liver although enlarged by 4cm is in good condition for a man of "post middle age"! You can guess how I took that news I did not start to sort my diet out properly until I was in my 40's and forced to by severe IBS I had been diagnosed in the early 1980's but to date have not had any sensible dietary advice. This might be a strong a statement to make but we are all lied to so much about how good vegetables are for us and how we HAVE to have 5 portions a day or we are being irresponsible or bad parents. When in reality Meat has way more minerals and vitamins than any vegetable or fruit (excluding vitamin C and Folic acid admittedly) The key reason to eat Vegetables is to reduce the amount of sweets cakes and puddings which are really BAD for everyone! Keep smiling, and avoid all sweet flavours for your HFI child. He needs to be able to detect VERY low levels in foods all of his life if he is to remain safe throughout out in the wide wonderful world we live in. . Always remember to Eat Safe
