A twist on the normal fish pie which is topped with mashed potato and sometimes cheese. We made a fish pie with basically Mac and Cheese on top. Ingredients. Macaroni Mozzarella cheese, one small ball and a 1/2 a 200g bag of grated "mozzarella" cheese. Strong cheddar cheese grated about 150 grams Milk Unsalted butter. Lightly Smoked salmon Cod Loin Some other white fish Raw king Prawns 1/2 a 250g bag White plain flour (small amount to thicken the sauce) 4 medium closed cup mushrooms Salt & Pepper Dried Parsley Put the Macaroni into plenty of salted boiling water to cook. Poach chunks of fish and frozen prawns and mushrooms in milk with parsley added. Once cooked (10 min max) lift out the fish and put into a deep pie dish. Put butter into a pan and melt add flour to make a rue. Add the milk used to poach the fish and stir like crazy till smooth. Add the grated cheese and sliced mozzarella ball add salt and pepper to taste. Drain the macaroni when cooked through. Add to the sauce and ladele over the fish. Sprinkle liberally with grated Mozzarella cheese and put under a hot grill for a few min to toast the top. Enjoy! It was so tasty 2nds were in order.
