I thought I'd play guinea pig this week and buy some (VERY EXPENSIVE) lactose-free milk. I bought this one: fairlife.com/ultra-filtered-milks/fairlife-2-percent-with-dha/It does not taste like anything more than water, so there's that. However, I am not noticing a reaction. I've had it with my coffee twice this week. I'm not drinking a bunch of it, but if it was going to cause a reaction, I would think it would happen by now. I'll try a glass later this week and keep you posted. The nice thing is that it has so much protein! I have issues getting enough protein (I don't like meat. I'm a reluctant meat-eater.) It's also got a decent amount of potassium (11%) and magnesium (6%), so it might be a good drink to take with you when you exercise (keep it cold, of course).

Quick follow up, aside from this skim milk not tasting good (kind of like chalky water--2% or Whole Milk might taste better), I haven't noticed any side effects. I have had a couple glasses with a meal and put some in my coffee every morning. It actually tastes better alone and not in my coffee, so it might be decent in oatmeal or cream cereal.
