My son is years off from drinking coffee, but he loves iced tea. It occurred to me at a restaurant that they probably use cheap lipton tea bags (which have orange pekoe and black mixed together) and may use the same reservoirs for sweet and unsweet, so which teas are definitely safe (if prepared at home) and which are not (e.g. green, black, etc.)?
I assume any unflavored coffee will be safe when we get to that point?
Thank you!

I don't have an issue with coffee, but black coffee (solo, pre-breakfast) will make my blood sugar drop like nobody's business. I usually add a lot of cream/milk.
With teas, I think the kind you can get bottled or the kind you get from a fountain are both not safe. Either there is some cross contamination happening or the ingredients are just not safe. I always get queasy if I have a fountain tea.
Starbucks tea line appears to be okay (from the restaurant--not anything off store shelves). Other coffee shops might brew their own teas as well.
At home, I drink green, jasmine, black, earl grey, chamomile, echinacea and lavender. I stay away from fruit teas (for obvious reasons), but the flower teas seem to be okay.
