I'm wondering if anyone knows of a safe multivitamin for children/age 11? She can swallow pills. I found a powder, but it looks like you have to take 3 scoops a day?? Wondering if there are any alternatives? Thanks

Which one do you use? Didn't realize there were so many different choices. She can swallow pills and doesn't have to have the chewables. Thanks for your help

Thank you so very much! We are new to HFI (she has been wrongly diagnosed with FM) so if you have any other helpful advice that relates to an 11 yr old female, we would graciously welcome any help!

Um-misdiagnosed is a better way of saying "wrongly diagnosed" ha! Sorry, it is late and my brain is a little tired.

My 12yr old has a prescription for 30gm servit. She mixes it with equal water and shoots it back. Followed with a glass of water. Tastes awful but the best for kids as we have been told that there is potentially fructose in fruit and vegetables derived vitamins. As diagnosed at 10yrs old, we just try to be very cautious. Good luck

Just a quick note.
Doctors like to test for FM 1st before ruling out HFI (maybe because its cheaper and more common) however their method of choice to test for FM is the Hydrogen Breath test.
This test is safe for someone with FM but really really nasty for anyone with HFI.. it involves drinking a glass of water full of Fructose!
And the 20 Min later checking for Hydrogen in the breath.. Apparently this is due to the oxidation of Fructose in the gut releasing Hydrogen from water which comes out in the breath..
There is no proof that an HFI will not also be FM.. I would suggest quite likely (based on nothing but gut instinct) either way it will do nothing but real harm to an already challenged liver and cause a really bad reaction..
I would like a Doctor (parent / carer who insists on feeding their child sweet foods and unsafe vegetables) to feel what a bad "reaction" feels like.. before they risk a child or adult with that test!

This is an older thread but I thought I’d share anyway. We finally found something for our little one. Though she CAN swallow pills there is nothing safe for her as she also cannot have lactose. She takes Multibionta Nutrition drops. 10 drops a day. It’s produced by Merck.

We are using the Nano VM. Its a powder and we mix it in his yogurt. They have different age groups. My son does 2 scoops a day. I order it on Amazon
