I have talked with the nutritionist at Phil. Children's Hospital and they said that presciption only vitamins call Poly-Vi with iron is fine. My son has low iron, probably because his gut wasn't absorbing much due to all the diarrhea. Jen F.

Since you now are mostly looking for vitamin C, Here is a very good way. There is a product called "Fruit Fresh". It is used for canning/freezing fruits and making jelly. It helps stops the fruit from turning brown as quickly. It is dextrose and vitamin C. Since it is a dry crystal form, you can put it on/in anything. This is what my dietician had me doing long ago. I can't tell you how much, I really don't remember what she said, but you can never get too much vit C. Regina just had some every morning on her oatmeal, cereal, or what ever she had for breakfast. Here is the website: www.fruit-fresh.com/In the states you can buy it in most grocery stores and Wal-mart. Here is a place you can get it online, also. www.homecanning.com/can/ALProducts.asp?CAT=482&P=1055And the nice part is that it doesn't taste bad when in something.

I found Natrol Liquid Kid's Companion at Whole Foods. It is a liquid multivitamin made with brown rice syrup. So far, Nate seems to be tolerating it well, though I wonder about the fact that it has "natural flavors" which include mixed berry, cherry and raspberry. We are new to this HFI thing (diagnosed last week), so I'm still trying to figure a lot of things out. I like the fact that it has spinach and other green foods as ingredients since I haven't been able to get him to eat any veggies yet.

I've listed an adult vitamin on the adult link. You could talk to your Dr and see if he would recommend cutting down and crushing it. Just a possibility.
