All I can say is try it. I have Rhubarb crumble for pudding tonight.. just waiting for the venison sirloin cooked like beef wellington in a suet crust pastry with mushrooms and parsley to go down a little 1st.. Well it was a new thing to try and very nice too. Although a good piece of Aberdeen angus aged for 20+ days takes one hell of a lot of beating, and is still tops. And I wonder why I am putting on weight?? DOH! Keep smiling.

That sounds wonderful. I dare say the HFI diet has made me a better cook. When you can't drown your food in onion/garlic/sugar you really have to learn technique. Simple food done well really is the best. I'm still obsessed with rhubarb. Haven't given up yet! 'Tis the season, so we'll see what happens...

my mom used to do milk popsicles for me back when I was a kid. You can also get funny shaped ice cube molds now (at least here you can), you could do milk ice cubes or cream ice cubes in those.
Other fun treats would be cheese straws (allrecipes has a decent recipe) or homemade funnel cake (atore-bought funnel cake will be too sweet, but you can make it yourself too), which is a bit like a deep fried waffle.
it might be fun to try some kind of sugar-free cheesecake too. You could have a bit of lemon or lime mixed in with the cream cheese to make it a bit tart, and then a butter/flour crust to hold it in. If I try it I'll let you know how it goes!

Deep fried Dough balls with whipped cream squirted into them are a fantastic replacement for doughnuts.. only make sure they are fried in different oil!

simply make up a white bread mix roll small amounts of the proven Dough into balls and deep fry until golden if you use balls the size of profiteroles they will be cooked right through .. do not make them too big otherwise it will remain raw in the middle. Obviously not too hot for the oil.. slower is better!
Enjoy!
