So it's 10am, morning after the election. Hillary's concession speech finished. Trump promises to gut the Affordable Healthcare Act. I don't know what he's said or promised to do about the "preexisting medical condition" clause of the act, but I'm hoping that everyone is still insured this time next year. I know a lot of people were wary to even get a diagnosis knowing healthcare insurance providers would deny anybody with a preexisting medical condition and they didn't get a diagnosis until ACA went into full effect.
Hell, even with an HFI diagnosis, my new insurance pre-ACA would not give me insurance until a year passed because I had the preexisting condition of "being a woman". I wonder how many people died or went bankrupt before this clause was put into place.
Deep breaths today.

Commiserations to you all you deserve better politicians than you had a choice of.. We here in the UK are also suffering from extremely poor quality of our political people. none of them are worth voting for. One person who is very happy about the election is Putin.. he did bail out Trump when he was going bankrupt.. should be interesting to see how he calls in his marker!
Well we survived having an active KGB agent as our PM back in the 1960's.. will be interesting to see how you survive Trump.
Going out tonight to get drunk think it might be the only way to sleep after this bad news..

I have seen this a lot in the news lately and of course the pre existing condition is a concern of ours too. I cant get through all the real news and fake news and the he said she said.
Have you had any luck on finding out where things stand as of now?

New bill being currently proposed (please write your congress representatives if you have concerns one way or another) would permit people with pre-existing conditions to still buy insurance, but insurances would be permitted to charge more for people with pre-existing conditions. Meaning that most would not be able to buy insurance. CBO estimates right now put 14 million people priced out of the insurance market in a year and 23 million in 10 years. Those are not betting odds at all.

TRUMPCARE is ABSOLUTELY NOT the Afordable Health Care Act!!!!!! The Republicans are trying to do away with Obamacare or the ACA. If they succeed or even in slowly strangling it as they are attempting to do by cutting funding--all of us with pre-existing conditions (ie. HFI and anything else) are SCREWED BIG TIME! So be sure and vote Republican if you Do NOT WANT to have any health insurance or want to pay huge bucks for it, IF YOU CAN EVEN GET IT!!!!!!! Meanwhile, let your congress people know how you feel. Hopefully, someone in Washington is listening to us. Be sure to VOTE in 2018 -- who you vote for does make a difference --just look at what is going on now in Washington, if you have doubts!

FYI:
NORD, National Organization for Rare Disorders, has a link to help you contact your senators and let them know you don't want this bill to pass.
