Ok let me start by giving a disclaimer here I am not recommending excessive alcohol consumption.. however when in a pub or say at a wedding or party what can you drink and be safe?
AS I have posted before but can no longer find beer brewed to German quality standards are fine and very safe being Malted barley hops yeast and water only! Malted Barley makes Maltose which while it will contain a tiny amount of Fructose (I would suggest too high for safe intake as a sugar) the brewing process reduces this to nearly zero as is posible and below modern equipment's ability to detect..
Beer made from Maize, Corn, Sorghum etc is not safe.. frequently they convert this into HFCS before brewing it out.. (it makes more beer and cheaper that way) and then adulterate it further with flavours and even added colouring..
I have drunk the very occasional whisky when at parties etc.. stuff like Southern Comfort are lethal having 136g of sugar in a bottle (1 Liter) thats over 27 heaped teaspoons full of sugar!
Recently on a visit to a GIn distillery I discovered that London Dry Gin has NO added sugar at all. The sweet flavours in some varieties comes from Licorice root which is added before a further distillation so is not a sugar at all.
In my Joy at having something nice to drink I have (accidentally) drank on one occasion enough if it was whisky to make me very ill.. and had NO side effects at all!... well when I say side effects.. the alcohol effect was there all right... what a result!
I drink it on ice or in ice cold water.. no "tonics" needed or wanted. In the UK there are 100s of new Gins being made and sold each week.. so far all I have tried are good, although Sipsmiths use far too much licorice in theirs and it makes their Gin taste Very sweet.. too sweet falvoured for my taste.
I have since found a Vodka sold in Aldi from the same distillery i visited which is also very smooth and has no discernible side effects being just pure distilled alcohol with no additives or flavourings.. but is boring to drink without adding something..
Please, if you drink then drink responsibly.. too much of anything will make anyone ill.. particularly alcohol.
If your liver is not in tip top condition then please do not drink alcohol at all!
However if you are keeping to a very low Fructose diet then it should be fine.. so you can enjoy parties a little more than before
I usually end my posts with "keep smiling" in this case laughing, giggling and having hilarious fun could be added..
Enjoy..
