Anyone out there notice symptoms of depression flaring up when accidentally ingesting fructose or other noxious sugars?
I´ve been a lot more diligent in trying to eliminate all fructose from my diet lately, and it has correlated with a huge improvement in my mood. I´ve been depressed for a number of years, and the difference really is like night and day.
I have also noticed that whenever I slip up, and ingest noxious sugars all of the depressive thoughts come rushing back for a while. Like yesterday evening I had some peanuts and depressive thoughts soon followed, even some paranoid thoughts to be honest. I also seem to get a delayed hypoglycemic response about 4-6 hours later. I have not had my glucometer handy lately, but it does at least correlate with night time awakenings, at which I have to eat something in order to be able to go back to sleep. After completely fructose free days, this does not occur.
Have anyone else out there noticed anything similar?

I think Fred, in the interview that Colormist posted on her Fruit is Bad site, listed depression as a symptom he experienced.
How many peanuts did you eat? Have you been able to establish a tolerance level of fructose?

Thanks. I will look into it!
Not sure, but quite a few. I have not been very good at eliminating all sources of fructose at all up until lately. But it does seem like I am getting more sensitive now that I have been stricter.
