Hello,
I believe I suffer from FBPase deficiency, and I also suspect other family members of the same. One thing I have noticed is that both myself and another family member (very young) were quite large as newborn. I myself weighed over 4600grams (4,6kg) or approximately 10 lbs. My nephew was also big, with 4100grams or approximately 9.1 lbs.
It might be a coincidence, but I was wondering if anyone else in here with FBPase deficiency who were large as newborns. If there is more than a correlation here, there might also be other factors at play, for example if the mother of the one with FBPase deficiency herself had the disease, or was only a carrier. I mean, if the mother had the disease herself she might have self selected foods without fructose - affecting the birthweight of the child. These are all speculations and I am not a professional. What do guys think? Any feedback out there?
