Hi there,
i have had blood sugar issues with eggs sometimes as well and I'm wondering if I'm the only one? I'm also wondering if canned fish is safe for HFI? particularly canned salmon and sardines. I always buy canned in water but the last couple times I have had issues witH it, not sure why. Thanks!

I get sick if I eat eggs too frequently. Past research has shown that they do have a small amount of fructose in them naturally. Other people have posted that they have no issues with eggs, so I guess it just depends on your sensitivity.
Canned fish can contain fructose. Watch the ingredients. If it is tinned in water, it has a higher probability of containing extra additives to make the fish taste better. Tinned tuna in water contains vegetable broth to flavor the tuna (all vegetable broth is guaranteed to have carrots, onions, and/or celery--which are not safe). Tinned tuna in oil is a safe alternative (but again, check the ingredients).
I have not personally tried sardines and I haven't purchased salmon in a long while, so I'm not sure on the ingredients.

Ok thanks! With eggs I get hypoglycemia and low blood pressure if I eat them continually. Once I actually passed out after eating eggs two says in a row and not eating many carbs to keep my blood sugar up. I will watch the tinned fish ingredients. Cheers!

In the UK tinned fish is fine so long as you do not buy the tomato sauce version. I avoid the versions that say "vegetable oil" without specifying which one in case its Soy Oil which causes me lots of problems. All tinned fish is OK Salmon (pink and red) Tuna, Sardines (great on toast with a bit of Chili oil or sauce.. OK I know not HFI safe but tinny amounts used so no problems to report), Mackerel fillets, Herrings tend to always be marinated with vinegar and sugar Shell fish is fine also and is great for good protein.. Mussels in Cream, with a touch of Garlic (if liked) is wonderful with a chunk of crusty bread to soak up the cream after.. mmmm. All sea fish is good in my opinion and the oily fish has great benefits health wise.. and there is a lot of research proving the point.

Eggs well it might be your supplier.. I know hens fed on a diet of fish meal produce eggs that taste very fishy.. some hens are fed a feed based on human food waste.. like cake and cookie waste from local factories.
So I would expect eggs from these to be high in sugar. IN the UK I have had no problems with eggs however it might be a version of HFI issue.. hope this helps
