Hi all I'm doing a research for my university of HFI and I wonder if anybody here has a list/guide of all the food containing fructose? Or it can be called the not tolerated food due to fructose existance. I understand there are individual variations but what is the exact guide to fructose containg food? All fruits and most vegetables eg cucumbers? Is there a list anywhere? Thanks in advance

Hi, there are numerous databases, but there is guide from Boston University with a list which most use. www.bu.edu/aldolase/HFI/treatment/Diets.htmlAlso people then use www.nutritiondata.com for their own use, also the fineli site: www.fineli.fi/?lang=enwhere you can research individual foods. I think there is no exact guide as also some foods vary country to country so people end up doing their own research. I also use www.cronometer.com to work out foods and recipes as we have to factor in starch and sucrose as well as fructose. You also have to read sucrose levels with HFI as obviously that breaks down to fructose +glucose. Good luck with your research, it would be great if you can share other findings on this board at a later stage. Charlie.

I did a bit of gathering a while back and managed to put together this pinterest board: www.pinterest.com/colormist/fructose-free-diet/ It's not comprehensive by any means, but it does give a decent overview of food that does not have fructose (or, rather, the least amount of fructose). Some of the lists on the Boston University website contradict themselves. The nutrition data website is actually extremely helpful, but it can be a bit overwhelming. I would say over 70% of the food in the grocery is off limits due to the amount of fructose either naturally or through added ingredients. It is much easier/quicker/simpler to say what we CAN eat than what we CAN'T eat.
