Does anyone know where I could order Medical grade dextrose? I'm in the US and made the mistake of ordering the NOW Foods dextrose online. I had a terrible spell of brain fog/anxiety and lethargy. Would love to be able to make my own sweets!

I'm seeing lot of purchase options on Alibaba, but they all seem to be from China. I'm not sure of China's food standards. I think your safest bet might be a manufacturer in Canada or US (presuming you're based in CAN/USA).

You might try emailing them and asking if it's medical grade fructose or at least equivalent to medical grade. They should be able to tell you that much. I'm not sure how much I would trust someone saying "this doesn't have fructose in it" because I've been burnt many, many times by trusting people who either don't know or don't care to know.

A long long time ago I ordered some straight from a pharmacy. Rea & Derrick. They are no longer around, but I don't know if you asked your pharmacy if they could get it or not. It was pretty expensive that way but you don't use much at a time anyway. I was then able to buy some much cheaper from a local bakery. I don't know that it was "medical grade" but it was good. You could try asking at a local bakery and see if they use it and where they get theirs. They may even order it for you.

You can get Dextrose and/or Lactose from Amazon.
Be warned though, even medical grade products like Glucose, Dextrose or Lactose only have to be 80% pure. They can contain other sugars.
