I don't have HFI and I'm asking this for my research purposes:
1. What would you say is the average time between fructose consumption and appearance of symptoms either in a child or in an adult? How long would abdominal pain last? 3. Is the pain in the upper or lower abdomen or hard to say?

Hi Boron! 1. I would say, depending on how much fructose you ingest this can vary, but I generally feel unwell within 30 minutes. An hour, tops, particularly if I haven't ingested a lot of fructose. It starts out as queasiness and progresses to nausea. A person might feel the need to binge eat something they (instinctively) know is safe--like a sudden craving for milk, potato chips, or saltines. Hypoglycemia and lethargy sets in after the nausea passes. I also tend to drink a LOT of water with my binge eating. Usually a couple glasses--maybe more. 2. The painful bits always start (for me) two days AFTER ingesting fructose. It might start sooner if there is a larger quantity ingested. The pain is in the kidneys. Maybe one or both. Mine tends to prefer my right kidney. It's sore, tender to touch & pressure. I usually have difficulty sleeping if I try to lay on the side that is in pain. There might not be pain if they don't ingest a lot of fructose (a lot, in this case, for me is about 1 gram), but dark colored urine (dark yellow to orange) is always present and my urine smells sickly sweet. My reactions might not be typical of everyone else, so I hope other's respond with either confirmation or contradictions.

For how long does then the pain (and other symptoms) last?
I was expecting the pain would be in the liver, so in the upper right abdominal quadrant, but you say in the kidney, so this would mean tenderness in the side of the *back* rather than in the front side? And not before the "next day?"
I need specific location/time info about abdominal pain and other symptoms to be able to differ pains from food allergies, intolerances, ulcers...

The pain's duration depends on how much sugar was ingested. My more severe recent incident was 12 hours and my less severe recent incident was around 8 hours. I really think it's how long it takes the kidneys to flush out the sugar. To hasten the process, I drink lots and lots and lots of water and make sure to go to the bathroom frequently. There's some relief of pain as soon as you empty your bladder.
Pain is definitely in the kidneys. On the back (mainly) and it radiates a bit to the side. It's usually too tender to lay on your side where you're having pain. I never feel any pain in my liver. Definitely not before the day after ingestion and maybe not until 2 days after. The only immediate symptoms I get are nausea, vomiting, and hypoglycemic-symptoms for about an entire week after ingestion.
EDIT: I also wanted to add that I never had these symptoms as a child. The first time I had these symptoms I was in my late teens. I mentioned that my kidney region hurt and my mom made me stay home from school. When they didn't feel better by the time she got home from work, she took me to the ER. At the ER, they did a urine sample, prodded around in my kidney region, and didn't see anything wrong with me. They sent me home. It was a few years later that the pain returned. I didn't go to the doctor because I didn't have insurance and they didn't find anything wrong the first time. A few years after that, I got my diagnosis for HFI and started restricting my diet. Once I started restricting my diet, the kidney pain became more frequent. I'm not sure if it was there when I was younger and I just didn't notice it or if it didn't happen until I started a safer diet.
