Just wondering if anyone has a boxed Mac and cheese that is safe? Kraft, Annie's, etc?
thank you!

I wasn't sure if I tolerated boxed Mac & Cheese or if it was safe. Looking at these ingredients on original Kraft Mac & Cheese, it looks pretty safe. Just be wary of buying off brand or any Kraft Mac & Cheese that isn't original. If the box changes, they might have changed the ingredients.

Look at all the artificial ingredients in boxed Mac and Cheese! Why go there when this recipe is soooooo easy:
5 Minute Homemade Mac and Cheese
1/2 pound cooked pasta of choice
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup whole milk
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1. Place pasta, cheese, milk, salt and pepper into a microwave safe bowl. Stir to mix. Cover lightly with plastic wrap and microwave for 3 minutes. Stir and microwave for an additional 2 minutes. Stir until creamy and smooth. Serve immediately.

I use the box Mac and Cheese all the time. I usually buy Kraft but that's because it is the brand I like the taste of. Most - if not all - of their varieties are ok. Velvetta also makes a shell mac and cheese that is tasty and safe.

Yep, I am fine with Kraft Mac & cheese as well as the velveeta shells mac & cheese. I also like the Kroger spirals mac & cheese. Pretty much my lunch everyday I work at home.

Thanks, all! Both the Kraft and the Velveeta are available near us and that microwave recipe looks fantastic! Excited to keep expanding my little guy's diet!

I tried Easy Mac a few years back. I bought an entire case of it at Sam's Club thinking that it would solve my lunch problems for at least a month. I'm not sure if it was just the taste or if there was something in the ingredients that made me have a reaction. I had never tried it before buying a case of it, so don't do what I did. They might have also changed the ingredients since then. The only things suspicious I found in the ingredients listing online was natural & artificial flavors.

ok i took another look at the kraft easy mac box at home, These are the ingredients:
Easy Mac ingredients include enriched wheat flour, glycerol monosterate, niacin, iron, vitamins B1, B2 and folic acid. This product also contains cheese sauce made from whey, corn syrup, palm oil, maltodextrin, modified food starch, salt, milk fat, milk protein concentrate and calcium carbonate. Easy Mac contains less than 2 percent of medium chain triglycerides, sodium triployphosphate, whey protein concentrate, citric acid, guar gum, sodium phosphate, lactic acid, calcium phosphate, milk, apocarotenal, artificial flavor, artificial colors yellow 5 and 6, enzymes, cheese culture and natural flavor.
I am not sure about the corn cyrup, modifies food starch and the artificial and natural flavors.
I stopped giving him this and started making the regular box kraft mac and cheese. he didnt seem to like it as much though...

If Ryan likes it and he acts okay after eating it, then let him be the judge. Once he's on the diet, he should have a pretty good food radar and you can trust his judgement a bit more. There will always be things that will trip him up, so it's good that you continue reading labels and be a good first line of defense.

My kids like the Annie's brand and don't have any reactions. They like the taste better than the Kraft Mac and Cheese.
