My son has recently started to vomit in the morning. Initially we thought he had contracted a stomach bug however he has no other symptoms. He will vomit once then ask for food. He is completely fine for the rest of the day eating, drinking milk and playing. His stool has been very pale in color almost white. These haven't been consecutive events which is what made me think it could be something to do with HFI. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Katie

White stool is kind of concerning.
Pulled this from a medical site: "Normal stools can vary in shades of brown, mostly due to diet. Pale or clay-colored stools are not normal. If your stools are pale or clay-colored, you may have a problem with the drainage of your biliary system, which is comprised of your gallbladder, liver, and pancreas.
Bile salts are released into your stools by your liver, giving the stools a brown color. If your liver is not producing enough bile, or if the flow of the bile is blocked and not draining from your liver, your stools will be pale or clay-colored.
Having pale or clay-colored stools once in a while may not be a cause for concern. If it occurs frequently, you may have a serious illness. You should see your doctor whenever you have pale or clay-colored stools in order to rule out illness and disease."
I would suggest you take him to the doctor. In the meantime, double-check the ingredients in everything he puts in his body (including medicines). Make a list. Take that with you to the doctor.

I agree with all Colormist said. You should bring this up to his dr. especially if it is something new. With that being said - Regina's stool is and always has been very pale. White even. No one has ever really said why. They just kind of say well if it's always that way, then it must be normal for her.
Vomitting in the morning makes me tend to think you might have missed some hidden ingredient and you should probably go back over the re-read all ingredients. And then maybe look for something he might be getting hold of that you don't know about.

Megan's stools used to be very pale when she was younger but as Colormist has said, could indicate a fat related problem, so worth asking the doctors about to be on the safe side. Maybe take a sample with you.
the only other thing that crosses my mind with the sickness in the morning is that he may have very low blood sugar when he wakes up if he is sleeping deeply. I used to make sure Meg had a milky drink last thing at night and at one stage I can remember having one ready for about 3am as she used to get tummy cramps and wake up then. She always used to wake up feeling sick and sometimes bring up a bit of bile, and then try to wangle a day off school as a result, until I started waking her up earlier with a milky glucose drink..... that helped, then she snoozed till get up time.

Bedtime snack is a great idea. I usually eat something small if I'm hungry before bed just so I won't wake up shaky and ravenous. I'm sure blood sugar levels are even more difficult to maintain with a smaller body mass.

Hi Katie
It might help us to help you if you tell us what he is eating and/or drinking at bedtime the night before he vomits in the morning.
