Hi, I was diagnosed with HFI when I was a few months old. I am now 26 and I am leaving a normal (sugar-free) Life. I only had the chance to talk to a specialist once a few years ago. It's good to hear other people's point of view and how they are living it. I was given a list of food that are allowed about 10 years ago, and I was wondering if anyone had a more updated list that they may be willing to share. Even to this day there are lots of ingredients that I am unsure about. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Hi Samr, welcome to the board. Nice to have such a handsome face to brighten it up.......... Sorry Fred ....... You were probably given the Boston University list of foods which is the basics of the diet. Somewhere I have a list we were given in the UK so will have a rummage and find that, if you PM me your email address I will send it to you. Where in the world are you as food products vary from country to country. When Colormist next comes on she can direct you to her Pinterest food board and blog for more ideas too. She has a lot of good food ideas on there to help with your cooking. In the meantime, any questions do feel free to ask.

Hi Samr, Welcome to the board. This place is usually a pretty good location if you have any questions or concerns about things that might be causing an HFI issue. We all have a variety of opinions, but on occasion we are in agreement about things. I've got a couple Pinterest boards where I keep food lists and food ideas: Fructose-Free Diet: (be sure to read the notes below the photos for any HFI modifications that need to me made to recipes) Recipes that might be good fructose-free: (These are recipes that I haven't vetted out. They might end up tasting awful because there are too many substitutions and omissions.) Here is my blog where I talk about all things related to living fructose-free: fructose-free.tumblr.com/(I've collected most of the important links around the internet here: fructose-free.tumblr.com/resources )
