Hello all,
Sorry for this slightly late notice...
Not sure if your children would be into this in your neighbourhood, but we've been enjoying this activity for many years... so I thought I'd pass it along.
Once the "phantom ghost" visits, the receiver has 24hrs to send their 2 baskets out to continue the gifting game. That way a whole neighbourhood (or street) has enough time to receive / enjoy / reciprocate by Halloween.
It's a lot of fun
I found a website that offers all the info in one spot so I don't have to send all info separately...
* There are also links at the bottom of the website page to past Halloween gift basket ideas.
* I found that if I secretly start it with my own house (without the kids' knowledge) then follow through with the activity (with them) to the next 2 neighbours... I have ultimate control over what amazing treats, gifts, activities, crafts etc are within my children's surprise basket. We don't put food goodies in our basket, but if done... this would be an excellent way of controlling what HFI safe treats are included.
And, if next year someone else starts it off first, just quickly add yours to your house BEFORE another neighbour gifts your kids. You don't want your HFI child being unintentionally disappointed if a neighbour accidently includes fructose ladened gifts to your home. That may ruin the game for an HFI child.
No one needs to ever feel left out in any holiday or holiday activity.
And all through October, this game has kids guessing who was who's secret Phantom Ghosty... and who will get what surprises next in their gift baskets.
Lots of neighbourhood bonding for young and old in the community. And the ultimate goal is that EVERY house has been hit by Halloween!! Enlist kids to keep an eye on which homes still are in need!! Soooooo FUN !!!!
Happy Halloween!
You've Been BOO-ed!!!
